For such a time as this. This part of Esther 4:14 kept ringing in my ears. So I went a little further. The conversation went a little like this:
Me: Okay God, what’s next? I have the scripture focus..now what?
God: Let’s plan.
Me: Okay I know You want me to share, but what exactly am I sharing? Videos? Sermon clips? Pictures?
God: Silence.
Me: Hmmm..yeah I’ll just continue sending videos, sermon clips, and pictures. Sounds good, got it!
God: That is not all that I’m asking you to share! I want you to share a place.
Me: A place? Where, exactly?
God: A place of shelter and solitude, where women can come and find peace, a quick get “away” from the busyness of the day. A safe haven. Where women can connect, not just with Me, but with each other. Where community is created.
This is the backdrop of Four&14Retreat. It is a place where we can be ourselves and enrich our relationship with each other and with our Creator! Let’s look at the ending of Esther 4:14 again, “and who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
We all have a different “this”. Sometimes as women we are distracted by our responsibilities and roles, sometime we spend more time pouring and helping others that we leave little time for us to connect with God concerning our destiny and purpose. Or leave little time to simply rest. We wake up early, work hard throughout the day, in and out of our homes, stay up late, and wake up to do it all over again. Every. Single. Day. When do we have time to rest and connect with the One who created us? How can we truly know and understand our “this”, our reason for coming to the kingdom?
Our hope at Four&14Retreat is that we can help every woman discover their “this”. That each site visitor, subscriber, and member will understand the importance of making quiet time with God each day, whether it be 5 minutes or 3 hours. We pray that every woman reading this feels led to make it a priority to talk to God about their “this”. Maybe you know you’re calling, your purpose, you’ve discovered your God-given gifts but you don’t understand the next step. Maybe you have never prayed or never even thought about your calling or purpose. Wherever you are, it is okay! Why? Because you are reading this, which means you are alive! You have time to rest in God and ask Him these pivotal questions. Be careful though, when you ask, He will hear you, and He will respond! Are you ready to discover, learn more about, and share your “this” with the world?
-Signed, a woman who said yes.
