Is He Worthy - The Declaration

When we look at the world today, we see an astronomical amount of wickedness and evilness. This great wickedness and evil in the human heart mirror the times of Noah. According to Genesis 6:5, "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
Although the earth was full of wickedness, Genesis 6:9 says, "Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." This scripture reminds us that in the midst of great suffering and evil, there can still be good news. None of the things we see happening today changes God's character, and that is GOOD NEWS!
He is still good!
He is still sovereign!
He rules and reigns over all creation!
As we focus on this truth and keep our eyes on Jesus, we will walk faithfully with God, just like Noah when surrounded by evil. Although we have faith and believe in God's faithfulness, when faced with great suffering, we may be challenged with questions and uncertainty.
In these moments, we must take our questions to the One with the answers. Let’s look at Job's story...After facing significant suffering, he questioned God, and God’s answers strengthened his faith. God responded by reminding Job that He is all-knowing and all-powerful (Job 38-42). He explained that He created everything in detail and controls every function of creation: the earth, the angels, the weather, and humans. Job responded by recognizing that God's ways are always best. Therefore, we, too, must trust in His wisdom and character even in our suffering.
Several weeks back, I heard the Lord say, "Is He Worthy." I soon discovered this was a declaration and not a question. As believers, we are called to walk in a way that is worthy of the calling to which we have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:1-2).
In the midst of great suffering and wickedness, let's keep our eyes on Jesus and remember who He is:
💫 JESUS, OUR WORTHY SAVIOR
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17)
God gave his only son's life for ours!
💫 JESUS, OUR WORTHY REDEEMER
"He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption." (Hebrews 9:12)
Jesus surrendered to his Father's will to suffer greatly. He was beaten, and his blood blotted out all of our nasty, filthy sins – We have value and worth in Him!
💫 JESUS, OUR WORTHY HIGH PRIEST
"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)
Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us and hearing every one of our prayers!
Jesus' death on the cross for all the world should never become a little thing to believers. It was a great sacrifice, never to be taken lightly. God declared His Son worthy. Therefore, we must walk worthy of the calling every day so someone will see us, God will be glorified, and they will be drawn to Jesus...because He is Worthy.
As I reflect this really makes me grateful & appreciative of the Word of God. No matter what we go through and experience we should always remember the power of the Word and how it can literally shift our hearts closer to God! I love how you broke down the scriptures pointing to the characteristics of Christ and the things He’s done for us! He is truly a faithful, loving, worthy King! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
