Is it True?

Do you believe the saying, “you are what you eat”? I believe this to be true because I feel more energetic when I eat healthy food, and my mind is clearer. But when I eat heavier foods, I feel sluggish, and usually, it's harder to stay focused. What about the idea that what we speak directly results from what we think? Do you believe our words are connected to what’s inside our hearts and minds?
The average person speaks an average of 7,000 words each day. Each word we speak is a direct result of what we believe. We are often told to watch what we say because words have power. But when our words “slip” out, how can we control them? How can we make sure our 7,000+ words bless others each day?
I believe the answer to these questions is found in Matthew 12:33-35: “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”
The heart not only consists of our emotions and our desires, but it is also our decision-maker. The heart is the fountain and seat of every single one of our thoughts. And in order to control what we speak, we must first take a hard look at our hearts. What would be the overarching theme if you took a moment and wrote down some of the words you said today? What do those words say about your heart?
As you reflect, ask yourself what you believe to be true. God’s word on the matter or yours? Once we find the truth, regardless of the situation, it’s important to speak that. ✨Instead of saying you won’t make it through, what about focusing on the truth of God’s word and His promise never to leave or forsake you?
Deuteronomy 31:6 ✨Instead of saying you can’t take another heartbreak, what about thanking God for His strength that is made perfect in your weakness?
2 Corinthians 12:9 ✨Instead of saying why me, what about looking at the fact that God selected you for such a time as this (Esther 4:14) and His plans for you are sure and complete
Jeremiah 29:11 Remember, what we speak comes from our hearts. And, in order to speak life in every situation, we must evaluate what we believe to be true and speak that! Feel free to comment below. We want to hear from you.
