pinky PROMISE.

PROMISE: assurance that one will do a particular thing or that a specific thing will happen.

Have you ever made a pinky promise? If only keeping a promise was that easy :)..In the Bible, we can find many promises of God. Some are spoken directly from God, and others are written by those that experienced His faithfulness firsthand. I don’t know about you, but I’ve learned to be careful about the promises I make. Things happen out of our control, and sometimes we are unable to keep our promises. Does this make us horrible people? NO! It makes us human.

There are many moving parts in life..things are not always as simple as we plan for them to be. But, we can find hope in the promises of God. Unlike us, He controls everything..and despite the circumstances, shortcomings, and complicated "stuff" in life that sometimes makes it impossible for us to keep our promises, He ALWAYS keeps His! So, throughout your week, take time to meditate on a few:

Abundant Life: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

-John 10:10

Strength: “But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

-Isaiah 40:31

Protection: “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

-Deuteronomy 31:8

Peace: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:6-7

Provision: “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

-Matthew 6:31-33

Wisdom: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

-Jeremiah 33:3

Faith: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

-Mark 11:24
