Are you settled?

I don’t know about you, but these last few days have shown me the importance of being deeply rooted in Christ. Our roots will either cause us to be settled or lead us down a road of uncertainty.

I am experiencing two transitions at the same time. On the one hand, I am excited for what is to come, eagerly anticipating change. But, on the other hand, I’m carefully keeping my thoughts and emotions before God to prevent what I call “what-if spirals.” I’ve learned that these spirals, often full of questions and assumptions, are directly related to fear. And unaddressed fear can lead to instability.

During transitions, no matter how scared, uncomfortable, or awkward we may feel, we can always find peace in the truth that God is stable! Psalms 62:2 says, “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.” I truly believe the key to stability is to learn Christ! As we fix our thoughts on Him, the more our faith will be strengthened, and the less we will be shaken. Why? Because He is our ROCK and FIRM FOUNDATION! We can stand on His Word and watch all the what-ifs quickly dissipate.

As we allow His teachings to wash us and permeate through us, we will be strengthened to stand flat-footed in all things! How do you manage your emotions when you find yourself in the midst of change or transition?
